Tariq AyubiHead Coach |
Tariq is the Head Coach at the Academy. He holds his Bachelors of Education degree from OISE, University of Toronto. He has coached basketball, soccer, hockey, cross-country, and volleyball. Tariq has taught Physical Education in the Peel Board to grades Junior Kindergarten to 6, and is currently teaching Phys. Ed. to a special needs class and Kindergarten classes at Thorn Lodge Public School. He is First Aid and CPR certified. |
Sajjid AyubiCoach |
Sajjid has his Level 1 Coaching Certificate and a Health in Society Degree from York University. During his studies he completed practicum courses in life saving (swimming), basketball, and strength training. Sajjid has coached youth in the Raptor Ball program for two years, and has volunteer experience with a grade 9 Physical Education class at Mount Carmel. |
Samira NagdeeCoach |
Samira holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from OISE , University of Toronto. She has experience working as a Special Needs Worker and teacher for students with exceptional needs. She has teaching experience in a number of primary and junior grades including Kindergarten and has been a coach with Raptor Ball, a basketball camp for youth. Samira is currently employed as a Short Term Occasional Teacher with the Peel Board of Education. |
Shafaq MalikCoach |
Shafaq holds a Masters degree in Adolescent Education from Medaille College in New York State. She has extensive experience with youth of differing ages and abilities including working as an assistant to speech pathologists, an after-school program coordinator, an assistant teacher and a private tutor. Shafaq brings exceptional athletic abilities to the MAA team; she competes in basketball, soccer and tennis and has also run on her high school track team. She is currently teaching English to grades 6-9 at Safa and Marwa School in Mississauga. |
Rashna MohamedCoach |
Rashna is currently pursuing a degree at the University of Toronto in Employment Relations and Sociology. She has taught madrasa at Brampton's Sunnatul Islamic Association and is currently a member of the youth leadership program at Sayeda Khadija Centre in Mississauga. Rashna participated on her high school cross country team for two years. Between her experience working with youth and her dedication to their development, Rashna brings focus and creativity to the MAA team. |
Usama MahmoodCoach |
Usama is a graduate of the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. In recent years, he has participated in a variety of sports teams, including ball hockey, baseball, and football. Usama has experience volunteering with junior students in a mentorship program for Humber Summit Middle School. Usama is currently a member of Team Pakistan Ball Hockey which competes on provincial and international levels. |
Belal HafeezCoach |
Belal is First Aid and CPR certified and holds a Crisis Prevention Intervention certificate. He has coached Pee Wee hockey under the Ontario Ball Hockey Association. Belal has attained a Police Foundations diploma from Humber College and is currently studying Psychology at York University. He brings a lot of passion and energy to the MAA coaching team. |
Yusuf ButtarCoach |
Yusuf is currently attaining an Environmental Studies degree at York University. He has experience in a number of sports clubs. He has played competitively at a variety of levels, from his high-school basketball team to representing Pakistan on the international junior ball hockey team. Yusuf enjoys community service and is dedicated to the development of our youth.

Assad RahimCoach |
Assad holds his Bachelor of Education degree from the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University. He is certified to teach at all levels including primary, junior, intermediate and senior. Assad has experience as a teacher candidate with the Peel Board of Education, teaching children from kindergarten onward. He has been involved with a number of extra-curricular initiatives, including coaching a junior boys' basketball program. He is currently teaching at The Lote Tree as an academic facilitator.
